Courtney Blackmore ruptured the patella tendon in his right knee on September 3rd. The 2-time PBL Defensive Player of the Year with the Lake Michigan Admirals played this past season with the IBA’s Grand Rapids Fusion. This injury comes on the heels of a recent asthma attack in August and really puts Blackmore in a tough position as he looks towards the decision of returning to the hard court or taking life’s next step over the sideline. Blackmore faces an 8-10 month recovery time, which is definitely an uphill battle, with surgery scheduled for earlier today.
With the Grand Rapids Danger starting up in November, Blackmore’s defensive skills and knowledge could come in handy for Allen Durham and the Danger coaching staff.
