Scott Soldan Grand Rapids Danger guard

“Genesee Christian’s top basketball player, arguably ever.”

That’s the praise Scott Soldan received from Jared Field of The Flint Journal when the top player in Flint in Class D signed to play at Cornerstone University back in February of 2007.

This week, the Grand Rapids Danger added Soldan to their roster for the 2016-17 ABA season.

The 6-foot-3 guard averaged nearly 21 points per game in his senior year and is the all-time leading scorer at Genesee Christian. Field added about Soldan, “grinder who is strong enough to score in the lane and skilled enough to play an off-guard spot” at Cornerstone.

Soldan averaged 3.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 56 career games playing for the legendary Kim Elders at Cornerstone.

Coach Chuck Johnson is hoping that Scott will bring a veteran presence, along with his solid game play and high basketball I.Q., to the team amid newcomers Jorddan Myrick, Jaylen Norwood and Dominic Shannon.
