Stan Van Gundy announced that injured Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings will be playing for the Grand Rapids Drive this Saturday as they take on the Iowa Energy at the DeltaPlex.

Jennings, the Pistons’ point guard rehabbing from a torn Achilles, volunteered to play with the Drive before the holiday in hopes of returning to the Pistons lineup after the new year. Jennings will wear #11 against the NBADL affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Drive will welcome Jennings to Beer City, USA with a Perrigo custom Jersey Takeover Night benefitting DA Blodgett – St. John’s here in Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids is becoming a viable tool that the organization is using to evaluate players(Lorenzo Brown, Devin Ebanks), get some playing time for those deep on the bench(Spencer Dinwiddie and Darrun Hiliard) and now, rehab work for injured players(Jennings and possibly Jodie Meeks). Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy and other staff members are scheduled to be in attendance.
