Here’s a look at how current and former Grand Rapids Drive players fared in the NBA Summer League, which again took place in Orlando, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas in 2016.


Lorenzo Brown, the 6-4 Detroit Pistons guard, averaged 14.2 points, 3/4 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 5 games in Orlando. Brown also recorded 6 steals twice, each against an Orlando Magic split-squad. Brown scored 19 points on the 4th of July against the Knicks, making 9-of-11 free throw attempts. He shot 53% from the field during the week, including 38% from behind the arc and 80% at the charity stripe, as the Pistons went 4-1 overall.


Ryan Boatright, a 5-11 guard out of UConn, played with the New Orleans Pelicans this summer. Boatright averaged 14.4 minutes over 4 games averaging 5.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists, as the Pelicans went 1-3 in the Utah Jazz Summer League in Salt Lake City.


Branden Dawson, the former Michigan State Spartan, averaged 10. 0 points and 6.6 rebounds in five games with the Los Angeles Clippers in Orlando. The team went 0-5.


Spencer Dinwiddie, a 6-6 guard recently traded to the Chicago Bulls, averaged 11.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists during a 4-0 run for the Bulls in the Las Vegas Summer League.


Kammeon Holsey, a 6-9 forward who has spent the last two seasons in Beer City with the Drive, averaged 4.o points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 17+ minutes over the first three games for the Pistons in Orlando.


Derrick Nix, another former Spartan and Drive alum, averaged 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds playing 16.5 minutes in two games for the Pistons in Orlando.


Henry Sims, averaged 4.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in three wins for the Brooklyn Nets. His squad went 3-0 in round robin play in Las Vegas.


Sam Thompson averaged 2.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.3 assists for the Charlotte Hornets in Orlando, with the team going 1-2 in those games.


Nate Wolters, playing with the Indiana Pacers in both Orlando and Las Vegas, averaged 6.2 points and 4.0 rebounds to go along with 3.2 assists.
