Earlier this week, the Grand Rapids Danger filled out the roster for the upcoming 2016-17 season by adding three new players in Jimmie Harvey, Spencer Perry and Jance Payne.
Jimmie Harvey is a 6-foot-4 forward who was last seen playing at Great Lakes Christian College in Lansing, MI. Harvey’s aggressiveness and hustle are sure to make him a fan favorite. Expected to be a significant role in coach Chuck Johnson‘s system, Harvey can do a bit of everything. Danger owner Allen Durham said it best,
“Jimmie is the team’s pit bull. He’s the player that will give our team some grit, rebound, play hard defense, take a charge…”
The Danger also added 6-foot-3 guard Spencer Perry. Perry’s talent surprised the coaching staff during tryouts. Coach Johnson said,
“Spencer is a pure athlete and we can use a player like him on the team.”
The roster was finalized with the signing of Jance Payne. The 5-foot-9 guard is explosive off the first step and can provide instant offense for the Danger. Payne’s quickness can’t be taken lightly on the defensive end of the court, either.
