GR DRIVE: Where are they now?

Here’s a quick look at where some former Drive players are continuing their careers right now:

LD Williams chats with Drew Neitzel and Bret Bakita during the 2014-15 season.

L.D. Williams, seen around Grand Rapids on the Drive’s billboards and schedules, signed with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on January 29, 2016. After averaging 10.2 points playing in 33 games for the Drive last season, Wiliams injured his left patella tendon on February 27, 2015 and had not played since. He recorded a DNP-Coaches Decision when the Mad Ants visited the Drive on Feb. 6th, 2016.


Ryan Boatright, Grand Rapids Drive

Ryan Boatright signed with Orlandino Basket of the Italian Series A league on January 26, 2016. He finished his first game with 17 points, making five 3-pointers. Boat right averaged 11.1 points with the Drive before his requested release on January 21, 2016.




Stefhon HannahStephon Hannah signed with AZS Koszalin of the Polish Basketball League on January 24, 2016. He played with the team in 2011-12, as well. Hannah averaged 5.1 points in nine games with the Drive this season.






Ashton Pitts signed with Gigantes Edomex Toluca of the Mexican Basketball League. Pitts played in two games with the Drive. He was released on December 21, 2015.



Jerrell SandersJerell Sanders is playing with the Grand Rapids Danger of the American Basketball Association. Sanders played with the Drive last season at different times. Sanders starred at Ferris State in Big Rapids, MI.




Daniel Orton is playing with the Santa Cruz Warriors. He is averaging 2.7 blocks per game, currently 2nd in the NBADL.
