Today’s the day! Single game tickets for the 2017-18 season of Grand Rapids Drive basketball are now on sale!
You’ll be tempted to visit the brand new Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit to see the Detroit Pistons return to the top of the Eastern Conference. We agree that you should make that trip.
But, folks, we’ve got a piece of the Pistons organization right here in Beer City, USA! The Drive are entering their fourth season as the NBA G League affiliate of the Bad Boys, meaning they’re the basketball equivalent of the Grand Rapids Griffins hockey team to the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings.
Last season, the Pistons regularly assigned young prospects Henry Ellenson, Darrun Hilliard and Michael Gbinije to Grand Rapids. Robert Covington, the first ever draft pick of the Drive, is now a rotation regular with the Philadelphia 76ers. 2016 NBA Champion Dahntay Jones spent that season with the Drive before signing up for the playoff run with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The talent is there. Will you be?
New coach Robert Werdann, the third coach in the Drive franchise history, heads into the season hoping to lead the Drive to their first ever playoff appearance. Former head coaches Otis Smith and Rex Walters have both been called up to the Pistons coaching staff.
And don’t forget about our favorite local mascot, Buckets. He’ll be at every game entertaining fans with his skateboard routine, t-shirt toss and more.
On a budget? $2 Tuesdays and Thursdays offer beer, soft drinks, hot dogs and large popcorn for merely a couple bucks.
Into the local craft beer scene? Well, head on over to the Deltaplex on Fridays this season and enjoy something different.
Saturdays are for families and groups of friends. Get a Family 4 Pack for only $44, which includes 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 sodas. What a deal!
