The EAstown Buzz is being revived for Year 7!
Gr3g League Year 7 (Oct 2026 – Apr 2027)
INCOMING PLAYERS (36YRS+) MUST HAVE BEEN BORN BEFORE JANUARY 1, 1990.
- Year 7 full season of games from Oct 2025 thru March 2026
- full-court; indoor 5v5, 36-minute running clock, target score of 71
- “MakeIt-TakeIt” only after made FG from “behind half-court inside center circle”

- player stats (Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, FG%, 3P% & GR3G%)
- volunteer opportunities throughout the year, adopt-a-road & annual cookout

Originally known as Oskar Woodworks: The Buzz, an ode to Grizzly Doug, aka Gr3g’s dad & sawyer extraordinaire.
Relocating to the SE side as the Broad Leaf Buzz, based off the nickname “Toothless Buzzards” given to a certain youth league team by their biggest fan (Grizzly Doug) because they had no follow-through.
Dr. Weed and Gr3g soon were oft-injured for diving on the ground, taking charges, playing like NBA bigs though we were only 9 years old. We soon were known as Weed & Greed.
They’ve also been known as the Wilcox Sanders, an ode to Mike Sanders, namesake of the court at the City of Grand Rapids Park (listen to the podcast here).
Name changed to Lake Drive Buzz in early 2023 in hopes of refilling the roster.
Although the franchise is TBD, the origin in Ward 3 is set.
