D-Money Goes for 27, Dimes Delivers 17, and City Survives Overtime
BeerCityHoops.com | Year 7, Week 2 Recap | October 20, 2026
If Week 1 was about the contenders making their opening statements, Week 2 was about surviving the fight. City of Bridges needed overtime to escape the Ligers, the West Leonard Hearts edged the Legends in a defensive battle, and Rhythm of the River continued its unbeaten start over the Fire behind a monster scoring night from D-Money.
The headline performances came from three very different places: D-Money’s 27 points for Rhythm, Dimes‘ 17 for the Ligers, and D Nags‘ 13-point contribution to City’s one-point overtime victory. Meanwhile, T-Roof added another double-digit rebounding performance, and the Hearts found just enough offense to keep their championship defense on track.
D-Money Drops 27 as Rhythm Stays Perfect
Rhythm of the River 58, Bridge Street Fire 48
D-Money was the night’s leading scorer, putting up 27 points on 11-for-26 shooting, including five three-pointers on 10 attempts. He also recorded 12 rebounds, four steals, and three blocks in a complete performance that helped Rhythm move to 2–0.
Amir added 15 points, four assists, and five three-pointers of his own. Parker contributed five points, 15 rebounds, and three assists, while DylWes chipped in nine points. Rhythm’s 12 made threes compared with the Fire’s six helped create the difference in a game that stayed competitive.

The Fire got 21 points from Jorge, who shot 10-for-24 and hit one three-pointer. Hutcherson added nine points, three made threes, and four assists. Bowen scored seven points and handed out three assists, while BK finished with four points, six rebounds, three steals, and a block.
Rhythm’s team totals show a meaningful edge in ball movement and perimeter shooting: 16 assists to the Fire’s 14, 12 three-pointers to six, and 35 rebounds to 27. The difference from deep was especially important, as Rhythm hit 36.4% of its three-point attempts while the Fire converted 26.1%.
Through two games, Rhythm has scored 115 points and allowed 93, giving it the highest scoring total among the three undefeated teams. D-Money’s 27-point outburst is an early candidate for one of the season’s standout individual performances.
City Survives Overtime as Dimes Leads the Ligers
City of Bridges 46, GRR Ligers 45 (OT)
The Ligers nearly turned a difficult opening week into a breakthrough victory, pushing City into overtime before falling by a single point. Both teams scored 40 points through regulation, and City edged the extra period 6–5.
Dimes led the Ligers with 17 points, shooting 8-for-17 from the field. He also collected 11 rebounds and two assists. ADaKid added nine points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals, while Silky scored eight points and made two three-pointers.
For City, Money led the way with 12 points, four rebounds, and two made threes. D Nags scored 13 points, hitting three three-pointers, and added five rebounds and four assists. T-Roof recorded 10 points, 11 rebounds, an assist, and a block. Brew Boi contributed six points and nine rebounds, while Porter added three points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
The team statistics underline just how close the game was. Both sides collected 39 rebounds, but City recorded 15 assists to the Ligers’ 10. City also made eight three-pointers, compared with five for the Ligers. The Ligers struggled from the field at 29.9%, while City shot 32.8%.
For the Ligers, this was a substantial step forward after their 65–32 opening loss to the Hearts. Dimes’ 17-point performance gave them a reliable scoring option, and ADaKid’s all-around contribution showed the potential for more balanced production. But close games require closeouts, and City found one more point when it mattered.
The victory keeps City unbeaten at 2–0, while the Ligers fall to 0–2 despite making the defending contenders work for every possession.
Hearts Win the Defensive Grind
West Leonard Hearts 42, Legends of the Lake 38
The Hearts’ second win looked nothing like their 65–32 opening-night blowout. This time, they had to work through a low-scoring game against a Legends squad that kept the margin tight until the finish.
Captain Youth led the Hearts with 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. El Toro added nine points, five rebounds, two assists, and a block while shooting 4-for-8. Hamlet scored six points and grabbed four rebounds, while D Bake contributed four points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
JMills and AJ each scored four points. The Hearts’ offensive balance wasn’t spectacular, but the team made 20 of 52 field-goal attempts and secured 34 rebounds. Their two made three-pointers were modest, but the defensive work helped compensate.
For the Legends, Luck led the listed scorers with 12 points, including four three-pointers on 11 attempts. Big Fuzz added six points on two three-pointers and four assists, and Wilsty and Splash scored five apiece. Gr3g scored seven points, while Baker handed out two assists and collected a steal.
The Legends made nine three-pointers, compared with two for the Hearts, but struggled to convert inside the arc. Their overall field-goal percentage was 29.5%, while the Hearts shot 38.5%. The Hearts also held a 34–14 advantage in rebounds and a 12–8 edge in assists according to the player tables.
That rebounding difference proved a major part of the story. Even when the Legends found outside shots, the Hearts limited their second chances and kept control of the game.
The win moves West Leonard to 2–0. After finishing Year 6 with an 18–1 regular-season record and the championship, the Hearts have shown they can win both a blowout and a defensive struggle. Those are two useful ways to start a title defense.
Year 7 After Two Weeks: The Numbers
The standings remain split between three unbeaten teams and three still looking for their first win.
| Team | Record | Points For | Points Against | Differential |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rhythm of the River | 2–0 | 115 | 93 | +22 |
| West Leonard Hearts | 2–0 | 107 | 70 | +37 |
| City of Bridges | 2–0 | 106 | 91 | +15 |
| Legends of the Lake | 0–2 | 83 | 99 | −16 |
| Bridge Street Fire | 0–2 | 94 | 118 | −24 |
| GRR Ligers | 0–2 | 77 | 111 | −34 |
Across six games, the league has scored 582 points, averaging 97 combined points per game. Week 1 averaged 101.7 points per game; Week 2 averaged 92.3. All three Week 2 games were decided by 10 points or fewer, and one went to overtime.
Rhythm leads the unbeaten teams in scoring, the Hearts have the best point differential, and City has shown it can survive a close finish. The Ligers’ near-upset also suggests that the early standings don’t tell the entire story.
Milestones: What to Watch Next
The available all-time statistics identify several established career benchmarks worth following. D Nags remains among the league’s most prolific scorers and playmakers; T-Roof’s rebounding total has already passed 400 career boards; and Amir entered Year 7 with more than 300 career points. T-Roof’s 11 rebounds this week add to that established rebounding résumé, while D-Money’s 27-point performance puts him firmly in the early-season spotlight.
Two weeks down, three teams unbeaten, and the margins are getting tighter. Rhythm has the hot hand, the Hearts have the defensive edge, and City has already survived an overtime test. Year 7 is beginning to look like a season where every possession—and every player contribution—will matter.
