Season 5 opens tonight with a practice/scrimmage for all players and teams.

Sources have Big Baby recruiting up in Belknap Hills hoping to reunite some former champions from the original Hawks squad.
Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Hoops, Gr3g is being mentioned in a return to the Legends of the Lake, dependent on whether or not the League is able to expand to eight teams from six.
What’s next for the Bridge Street Fire?
Stay tuned. Subscribe via email.
Gr3g missed a week of the schedule somewhere during Team 6 in Week 12…
Everything is off the board. “We’ll do it LIVE!”
While the schedule is written, the venue has final say on what dates we’ll actually be in the gym.
Some dates will most likely be eliminated due to school events.
As of now, just play along.

2023 was the year of Bridges as City took home their first title. As the original franchise in the League, they’ve played the most games (59), have the most wins (29) and the most losses (30).
D Nags became the first player in League history to break the career 400-point barrier. His next game will be his 50th, another League record.
Money (46 games, 298 points) and Kid A (45 games, 330 points) will each reach 50 games played this year and quite possibly the 400-point mark, respectively, as well.
Porter, T-Roof & Deja have engaged veterans RossTy (Achilles) and Gustafson (Business) about a possible return.Â
City of Bridges
The Rhythm fell just short in the Final Series in their second year together.
Since their inception in Year 3, they’ve won 67% of their games (20-10).
They’ve got a First Big 3 (Cope, Cuervo, Trav) and a New Big 3 (Parker, Uncle Jeff, Boogie) and will again be tough to contend with.
Rello has replied “hard maybe” about a return to the League. No word yet from Big Ed $.
Rhythm: River North
The Nets had a tough Final Series but will return most of the core squad.
Availability of stars Baker, Arrows & Juice will be key in their quest. Adding Evinrude to the cast was a real catch.
Will TK and Greeny be back? If not, could adding Hengy & Wooly in free agency be the answer?Â
Sixth Street Nets
Last year’s rookie squad of Hearts will return determined to attack with its defensive pressure and long-range shooting.
After going 1-2 in the Finals, Jody Breeze, Rio, Targets, JMills & Good Job James should all return to the mix.Â
Hamlet played a couple games with the Hearts late in the season. Is he the answer in the middle?
West Leonard Hearts
The GRR Ligers (aka Ruckus) will return to the game schedule in the Fall.
While their roster has been fluid over the years, the mainstays of Sam Awry, Silky & B. Buckets should all be back in green this season.
TLC has improved his shooting each season. Could there be a return of Moten, Scotty J, Frain Wreck or B Stacks?Â
Roundball Ruckus Ligers
The Fire took missing out on the Finals to reset and recoup after an incident resulting in a player being suspended for the remainder of the season.
Will Gr3g and Big Baby find a way to rebuild a fledging franchise amid such chaos?
Retaining DBk is the most likely option to start their first off-season working together.Â
Former players I’ll Will, Wall, Berlin & AFord are all on the radar.Â
Bridge Street Fire
All former League veterans were contacted just as the league season opened on July 1st.
So far, we’ve heard back from MJ (351points) and Crain.Â
Potential Rookies joining the League this season are BK (the gym keys!), Gator and Splash.Â

“He’s right there. On my original roster. Tom Shepperd.” -Coach.
Playing without their center of gravity, MVP-caliber big man T-Roof, in the most important game in the history of the franchise, it became obvious early that the City of Bridges knew what was on the line and how to capture the elusive title they’ve been searching for over the last four years.
The ball kept moving as normal but didn’t quite make sense in the first half as the entire team searched continually to the post for the ghost of Roof (out: March Madness surgery) as they weaved in, out and around the 3-point line against a Sixth Street Nets defense struggling throughout the playoffs.
Following a mid-game break, though, the team found its’ way.
Kid A and D Nags retreated to their elbow-wing positions as shooters, Money took his game to the 3G line while Deja and P sliced and diced the lane for some easy buckets.
In the end, it was a 48-31 victory for City as Kid A drained a deep three-pointer as time expired only because the fans were relentless in making sure that buzzer-beater went up.
After three weeks of the round-robin 2023 Finals, City had beat the Hearts 31-26, beat the Rhythm 46-41, and ended the season with the 17-point victory over the Nets.
[Grand Rapids, MI December 25, 2023] BeerCityHoops would like to announce the addition of the 12th franchise in league history, the Bridge Street Fire.
Current members of the Hawks and Hearts, Big Baby & Gr3g, respectively, and new recruits Vande & Komar, have been selected to build this team from the ground, like a Phoenix rising from the burning ashes of the past.
Since Year 1 of the BeerCityHoops league, Big Baby and Gr3g have played in a combined 53 games (26 & 27) on the books and multiple times each as a Lake Drive Substitute. This will mark the first time in the 4-year history they will play on the same team. (“It’s about time!”)Â
Incoming rookies Vande & Komar were each recruited by their new running mates. Vande is the newest member of the Lifetime Club. Komar has been spotted multiple times near Monroe and the Sixth Street bridge.
The Fire will take the 6th team slot over during the final 7 weeks of the 2023-24 regular season and playoffs, replacing the Hawks.
Their first game is January 9, 2024 versus City of Bridges at 7:45pm.

The West Leonard Hearts have added Swish to their active roster from the returning player pool.

Although he tried to walk it off last Tuesday, doctors have confirmed that T-Roof has a fractured ankle and will be out indefinitely as he rehabs.
Recently named to the 2022 All-Rookie Team, Tony has been the foundation of a City of Bridges squad finding their way back to the winning column on the regular.
This is another tough blow to the Blues as RossTy is still recovering from an Achilles injury that occurred in early 2023.
Team officials, per sources, have reached out to former Blues including (Josh) The Juice & Shippy about a possible reunion later this season.
